What is a Demi Pair?

As the name itself implies, a Demi Pair is similar to an Au Pair but they’re only spending half of their time looking after children and the other half is for their studies. If you’re a student who goes to a University, then being a demi-pair could be a good option for you as it does not only help you improve your English skills, it can also accommodate your work and studies. 
Demi Pair Au Pair
  • Help the family 15-25 hrs/week
  • Pocket money AUD 210-250/week 
  • Full accommodation and board 
  • Stay 6 months – unlimited
  • 200+ hours experience working with children 
  • Enrolled at an Australian higher education institute/university
  • Hold a Subclass 500 Student Visa
  • Hold an international drivers license
  • Help the family up to 25- 40 hrs/week
  • Pocket money AUD 210-500/week 
  • Full accommodation and board
  • Stay 6-12 months
  • 200+ hours experience working with children 
  • Hold a 462 or 417 Working Holiday Visa
  • Hold an international drivers license

Who can become a Demi Pair?

You can become a Demi Pair in Australia if you:
  • Have experience and are keen to work with children
  • Have a mature, patient, and loving personality
  • Have intermediate English skills 
  • Are interested in living with a local family and immerse yourself in the family’s lifestyle
  • Are able to provide support with childcare 15-25 hrs a week (outside of school hours)
  • Can stay with the family 6+ months
  • Can drive (not mandatory but most families need a driver)
