It’s a cultural exchange where you live with a welcoming Chinese host family, help with childcare and language practice, attend Mandarin lessons, and explore China—all with 24/7 support from 99aupairs and our in-country partner.
Anyone aged 18–30, in good health, with conversational English and a love for children and new cultures.
Placements usually run for 3 to 6 months, though longer options (up to 12 months) are available.
No—English is enough. You’ll take weekly Mandarin classes during your stay.
Free accommodation and meals, Mandarin lessons, monthly cultural activities, program insurance, local support, and a completion bonus.
Help children learn English, assist with school routines, play, and share your culture. You’ll work up to 30 hours per week.
Every family is interviewed, screened, and matched to ensure safety and cultural fit.
We guide you through applications, visas, interviews, orientation, and settling in—with a local coordinator available during your stay.
You’ll need a police check, medical report, references, photos, and a completed application.
You’ll have mediation support and, if needed, a rematch option handled by our team and partner agency.
You’ll improve your Mandarin, become more confident, independent, and globally minded—all while building lifelong friendships and memories.
All placements include 24/7 emergency support, insurance, and pre-departure training. Host families are thoroughly screened for suitability.
You’ll take part in local excursions and workshops—from tea ceremonies to calligraphy and traditional festivals.
Most participants say they return home with greater self-confidence, global awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose.

The whole process was straightforward, and they made finding a host family in Perth so much easier. They took the time to help me find a family that was the right fit for me, and I’m really happy with how everything has worked out. I started the process in February 2026 and was living with my host family by March. I am still currently with the same family and have loved my experience with them. The team have made me feel welcome and supported throughout the whole journey. One thing I’ve really appreciated is the group chat they have for au pairs in your area. It’s been such a nice way to meet other au pairs, make friends, and organise catch-ups with people who are going through the same experience. Irene has also been amazing throughout. She regularly checks in to make sure everything is going well, and she’s always available if you need a chat, have any questions, or just want some advice. It’s really reassuring knowing there’s someone there to support you even after you’ve been matched with a family. I’d definitely recommend 99aupairs to anyone looking to become an au pair. They’ve been so supportive from start to finish and have made settling into life in Australia much easier.Posted on Google ReinaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on Google sharnah stevensTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have had great support throughout this process. The whole family was very cheerful and kind, and they always prepared delicious meals for me. The children were very energetic and bright, and they always greeted me whenever we saw each other. The parents were also very kind. They understood my English level and talked with me in a way that was easy for me to understand. I had such a wonderful time with them, and I really enjoyed my stay!Posted on Google Adelia Gabriella NapangTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am so glad I found this service! I actually discovered them beyond the usual backpacker job apps, and what immediately caught my attention was how clear and comprehensive all the information on their page is. Before starting, I had a few hesitations, but what completely convinced me to give them a go was how reliable they are 99au pair and host family details they provide are incredibly clear, transparent, and well-accommodated, which gave me so much peace of mind. My experience so far has been so good! Everything is going smoothly, and I truly hope it stays this wonderful moving forward. I would highly recommend this service to any of my friends or young people with skills who love working with children and want to experience a true Aussie lifestyle.
