It’s a cultural exchange where you live with a welcoming Chinese host family, help with childcare and language practice, attend Mandarin lessons, and explore China—all with 24/7 support from 99aupairs and our in-country partner.
Anyone aged 18–30, in good health, with conversational English and a love for children and new cultures.
Placements usually run for 3 to 6 months, though longer options (up to 12 months) are available.
No—English is enough. You’ll take weekly Mandarin classes during your stay.
Free accommodation and meals, Mandarin lessons, monthly cultural activities, program insurance, local support, and a completion bonus.
Help children learn English, assist with school routines, play, and share your culture. You’ll work up to 30 hours per week.
Every family is interviewed, screened, and matched to ensure safety and cultural fit.
We guide you through applications, visas, interviews, orientation, and settling in—with a local coordinator available during your stay.
You’ll need a police check, medical report, references, photos, and a completed application.
You’ll have mediation support and, if needed, a rematch option handled by our team and partner agency.
You’ll improve your Mandarin, become more confident, independent, and globally minded—all while building lifelong friendships and memories.
All placements include 24/7 emergency support, insurance, and pre-departure training. Host families are thoroughly screened for suitability.
You’ll take part in local excursions and workshops—from tea ceremonies to calligraphy and traditional festivals.
Most participants say they return home with greater self-confidence, global awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Irene at 99aupairs organised wedding Nannie’s for our event and it’s was fantastic!! They engaged the little ones while we could enjoy the event! Highly recommend!!Posted on Google CelineTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Before I started my Au Pair placement, my main concern was whether I would settle in well with my host family and whether I would make friends quickly in a new country. Looking back, however, these worries were unfounded. I was able to make friends quickly, as Irene ensures that the au pairs get to know one another. This led to me forming some great friendships, which I really appreciated during my time as an Au Pair. Throughout the whole process, I felt well prepared and supported. Communication was always straightforward and I felt well prepared for the interviews and everything that followed. This made the start much easier for me. All in all, my Au Pair experience in Australia with 99AuPairs was the best decision I could have made. It was an unforgettable time that I will always look back on fondly, and I would definitely recommend 99AuPairs. My advice to other Au Pairs would be to approach the experience with an open mind and not to worry too much. At the same time, it’s important to communicate your expectations and wishes openly right from the start. My personal tip would be to make the most of every opportunity to meet new people and to try things you might not have done at home. It’s precisely these experiences that make your time abroad so special in the end:)Posted on Google P GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am very happy with this agency and can highly recommend them. There is always a contact person available who responds quickly, supports you, and helps whenever needed, which made me feel very comfortable and well looked after throughout the whole process. They really take my individual wishes and preferences into account and put a lot of effort into finding the right match. I am very happy with the family I am currently working with and overall had a really positive experience. Thank you for all your support!
