Why Having Aupairs Is The Best Decision I’ve Ever Made

I love being a mum! The quality time I spend with my family will always be the best moments of my life. But I also like the mental challenge, stimulation, and fulfillment that my career gives me and to manage that, I have been hosting Aupairs since 2014. I want to help re-define what a mother’s role should be for the next generation by setting myself as an example. Although I agree, that juggling motherhood and pushing through my career is a lot to handle but I knew there was a way for me to achieve success without abandoning the things I care about most!

I knew I needed the right support because formal childcare hours don’t give me enough flexibility. I’m so glad to have discovered Aupairs! They are young people traveling overseas to gain more experience working with children, learn a new language and experience a new culture. They usually stay with a family as part of an exchange. The family provides them with their basic needs while they help look after the children and do minor house chores.

I am now able to achieve a lot of my goals in life through the help of our Aupairs! They took care of the things I no longer have the time of doing during the busy days, such as finishing house chores, dropping off and picking up kids from school, packing my kid’s bag, having all the clothes sorted for the next day and a lot more. My schedule wasn’t as crazy, and mum guilt didn’t cross my mind anymore!

On the other hand, I’ve noticed how other families go through a problematic matching process, and most end up dealing with a substandard pool of candidates to choose from, leaving parents no options but to interview dozens and dozens of potential candidates.

I talked about the rising concerns in the world of Aupairing and the remarkable flexibility my Aupairs have given my family and me in an editorial published by Mamamag – an independently run FREE magazine offering fun and relevant content, interviews, tips, offers, and advice as well as local insights to mums and parents in Melbourne. I especially want to thank Editor and Mum, Sarah for allowing me to share my story in her fabulous Melbourne Magazine!

Life is still a struggle, but the moments of ease, joy and relaxation and quality time with my family are way more frequent! I barely have moments of me turning into a Mumzilla, and I enjoy being able to fall asleep in my kids’ bed without the worry of all the chores for the next day!

Our life as a family got easier more often than not because I now have the ultimate support that I need.
