Love Languages

And how they help you to connect with your Au Pair and Host Family

Have you heard of The Five Love Languages?

If you find your relationships are all a bit stressed and tired from the daily juggles and grind – try to reconnect through your Love Languages.

We find they are also a great way to know your Au Pairs / Nannies and connect on a deeper level.

It’s simple and it works!

Learn how you can reconnect to the people around you by understanding your own and their love languages.

It’s a great way to keep your relationship with your family and helpers!

I recently came across Dr. Gary Chapman, a best-selling author and counsellor who developed the five languages from his years of experience as a counsellor for couples.

I talked about the five languages on IGTV via Instagram here:

Dr. Chapman discovered that there are “five love languages” that people may respond to:

  • Words of Affirmation
  • Quality Time
  • Physical Touch
  • Acts of Service
  • Receiving Gifts

Love Languages in daily life

Words of affirmation

99aupairs Love languages result: Words of Affirmation followed by Quality Time

Take the above example. The person’s love languages are primarily Words of Affirmation and Quality Time. This if you want to make them feel appreciated, tell them they did a great job and thank them. And then give them some of your undivided attention. Have a cuppa (Aussie for cup of tea) and have a chat.

This will do much more than showering the person with gifts.

And do let me know what you have learned! If you find it valuable, we would love for you to share it with other families as well.
